Self-Represented Litigant Divorce Workshop

ARE YOU UNABLE TO AFFORD TO HIRE AN ATTORNEY?

 

If you answered YES to any of the above questions, you may be able to get help by attending the Family Resource Center Self-Represented Divorce Workshop.

 

  • The workshop is FREE to divorce filers who qualify.
  • Workshops are held weekly.
  • You must be screened IN-PERSON by Family Resource Center Staff.
  • YOU MUST BE REGISTERED IN ADVANCE TO ATTEND THE WORKSHOP.

 

Eligibility Requirements

  • You must be a resident of Marion County (verification may be requested)
  • Clinic participants must meet strict financial eligibility standards established by the federal government (live at or below 150% of the federal poverty line i.e., a family of 4 with income of $33,525 or less) and not have liquid assets or own substantial property.

 

Pre-Screening and Registration

To determine if you are eligible for the workshop, come in to the Family Resource Center, 200 E. Washington Street (City-County Building), Room W-125 between 8:00am and 4:30pm Moonday through Friday. Upon completion of the intake form a staff member will meet with you briefly and if you qualify you will be scheduled for the next available workshop.

 

All screenings are conducted in person, NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE.

**It is recommended that you always have an attorney when you go to Court. If you do not qualify for the Self-Represented Litigant Divorce Workshop and you CAN afford to hire an attorney, but do not know where to find a  licensed attorney who provides family law services, contact:
